What can $217 million buy?

That number is is the difference in cost between Prison Relocation and Prison Renovation. By keeping the Draper prison where it stands, the state could fund:
- 36 Elementary Schools (avg. $5.9m/each)
- 27 Junior High Schools (avg. $7.9m/each)
- 14 High Schools (avg. $15.5m/each)
- One-time stimulus of $361 per student
Any combination of the above should help Utah's standing as 3rd highest in number of students per teacher ratio AND create thousands of jobs.
Not interested in investing in more schools for our children? That same $217M could fund:
- 3-4 Commercial projects the size of Adobe Utah Campus creating 4,400+ permanent jobs. Compare to relocation of prison costing $1B+ and creating only up to 2,000 permanent jobs.
- 5 state of the art recreational facilities.
- Place into 'rainy day' fund for future use
- Provide tax payer relief
